lake monitoring by young science enthusiasts
CLEAR Youth Network       During the CLEAR Youth Network Congress on 03 June 2006, one of the common lake conservation activities agreed upon by the participants to be undertaken by each group at their respective community was the monitoring of water quality of Laguna de Bay.  This aimed to increase the awareness of the community of the importance of the lake in their daily lives.  This activity will be under the CLEAR Community Lake Monitoring Network (CLMN), a cooperative program combining the technical resources of CLEAR and the volunteer efforts of the communities lakewide to collect water quality data on their side of the lake using secchi disc.

The first group to start the activity was the Kilos Kabataan Para sa Lawa graduates in Muntinlupa City.  They started their 8-week sampling on 05 August 2006.  Undertaken under the supervision of Ms. Yvonne Alba, the adviser/moderator of Young Science Enthusiasts, 35 student members of YSE took part in the first water sampling for the CLMN.  YSE is a student organization in Pedro E.
