Information
about the water quality of the Lake is vital for assessing their physical condition and
use suitability.
These data
are used to analyze water quality trends, characterize trophic status, and provide basis
for water quality goal-setting.
The
participation of community volunteer monitors in the CLMN effectively increases the
monitoring capabilities of the lake authorities. Through this process, the communities can
learn about water quality of the Lake in their area and gain greater awareness of the
causes and effects of lake degradation.
The CLMN is aimed at harnessing the potential of
lakeshore communities in monitoring the water quality of Laguna de Bay. Specifically, it
is also aimed to help increase the awareness of the community of the importance of the
lake in their daily lives.
