Learning Forum was one of the activities in the Work
Plan of Lugawan sa Barangay Para sa Lawa. It is
a series of lectures for the residents of the two
barangays (Poblacion Ibaba and San Vicente) to
help them understand the issues and concerns of the environment.
Specific ways of taking care of the river and lake will
be provided by the lectures.

First of the series was held on 20 June 2009 at the
Barangay Hall of Barangay Poblacion Ibaba. Lectures on
the Profile of Laguna de Bay (by Ms. Adelina S.
Borja of Laguna Lake Development Authority), Solid
Waste Management (by Ms. Amy M. Lecciones of the
Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands) and
River Conservation (by Ms. Luzviminda Vocalan of
the Angono River Basin Council) were given to an
audience of mothers and children of Barangay Poblacion
Ibaba. It was followed by an open forum where
experiences in wastes disposal was openly discussed. |
