Lonely River,  Tayo ang Saver
Pateros Catholic School

As part of the planned activities of the eco-campers from Pateros Catholic School under the Project Lonely River, Tayo ang Saver, the Recycled Christmas Tree Contest was launched in November 2009 .  Its objective was to impart to students and teachers the importance of recycling.  The Contest, which was open to all sections in the high school department of Pateros Catholic School, was participated by 40 classes/sections.  On 15 December 2009, three Christmas trees made of recycled materials were declared winners in each year level. Cash prizes were awarded to winning entries.

In February 2010, the eco-campers from Pateros Catholic School proposed a Program that aims to reduce if not eliminate the use of Styrofoam inside the school campus.  The concept of the program is the use of paper plates in the school canteen and in school meetings.  This was presented to and was consequently approved by the school Director and Council.

The program for Zero Styrofoam in Pateros Catholic School is now being implemented inside the school campus.
