Youth in Action
for Lake Conservation

The Winning Project Concept
Binangonan, Rizal

All the concepts presented by the groups during the eco-camp were all related to IEC (information, education and communication) on solid wastes management, to increase awareness among the schools (for the high school participants) and community members (for the Sangguniang Kabataan).  It was, therefore, decided that all groups will implement their own IEC project, having a common activity which is the conduct of seminar on Ecological Solid Wastes Management.  The project will be called “Target Basura .... Bull's Eye!”, adopting the title from the concept of Janosa National High School.  Thus, the P50,000.00 prize was divided among the seven groups for the  implementation of their corresponding activities: P20,000.00 for the 2 groups from Talim Island; P20,000.00 for the 4 groups from Binangonan mainland; and P10,000.00 for the group composed of the Sangguniang Kabataan delegates.  The project  was consequently presented to the community in a Community Lake Forum on 06 February 2010 at the White House of Binangonan to solicit support from the community and schools and come up with an operational plan for its implementation.
