Youth in Action
for Lake Conservation

All groups at the ecocamp presented concepts that were all related to information campaign to schools and community members.  It was decided that the batch will implement a project wherein each group will do an IEC activity (seminar/orientation on Ecological Waste Management) and other activities specified in their respective action plan.  All groups will use the common project title - “Ating Solusyonan ang Polusyon (ASAP) sa Laguna de Bay”, adopted from the concept of Taguig Science High School. The P50,000.00 prize was divided equally among the five groups for the implementation of their corresponding activities.  The project concept was presented to the community in the Community Lake Forum on 08 April 2010 at Tipas National High School to solicit the support of their respective schools and to come up with operational plan for its implementation.

1. Bagumbayan National High School
	Main activity
	•	room-to-room orientation in school about proper waste management

	•	school-wide implementation of waste segregation
	•	fundraising activities using recyclable materials
2. General Ricardo Papa, Sr. Memorial High School
	Main activity
	•	conduct an environmental orientation targeting all year levels in their school
	•	household-level information dissemination campaign involving school-based organizations

	•	field exposure activities and evaluation (before and after)
3. Taguig National High School
	Main activity
	•	conduct a school-based seminar regarding the proper management of wastes in school and households

	•	implementation of waste segregation and recycling in school

4. Taguig Science High School
	Main activity
	•	disseminate information about the current state of Laguna de Bay through orientation and seminar in school

	•	fundraising activity (trash bin design competition)
5. Tipas National High School
	Main activity
		lectures about proper waste management involving the school administration, teachers and students
	Other activities
	•	reduce plastic usage and promote waste segregation - school canteen will be the main target for the   reduction of plastic usage - coordinate with the school administration
