Youth in Action
for Lake Conservation

Every group has plans on disseminating information which is referred to as IEC (Information, Education, and Communication). Its objective is to increase the awareness among the students and teachers, family and community members. It was therefore decided by the judges that each group will implement each of their action plans in their own school. Each group will do a common activity which is to conduct a seminar/orientation in their respective schools about Ecological Waste Management under a common project title of “Munting Bata, Sasagip sa Lawa”.  Other activities in their respective work plan will also be implemented by the groups. Thus, the P50,000.00 prize was divided equally among the five groups for the implementation of their corresponding activities. The Project Concept was presented in the Community Lake Forum at the Audio-Visual Room of Muntinlupa City Hall on 12 April 2010 to fine-tune the design and come up with a operational plan, and at the same time solicit support from the schools and the local government of Muntinlupa.

1. Tunasan Cluster	Main activity
		organize a youth-based group that will help arrest environmental issues and concerns

		school-based information dissemination campaign about the condition of Laguna de Bay and proper waste management through seminars/orientations

3. Sucat-Alabang Cluster	Main activity
		information dissemination campaign in schools and community to develop environmental awareness

4. Putatan Cluster	Main activity
		organize and appoint Youth Eco-officials (people who want to help the environment)

	•	promote lesser usage of plastic
