ANGOC
joins the steering committee of the International Forum on Capacity Building (IFCB).
IFCB is a multi-stakeholder gathering where Southern NGOs engage Northern
NGOs and donors in debate and innovation that shape conceptual approaches,
policies and practices for future capacity building.
Specifically, the Forum will attempt to:

Facilitate information sharing and cooperation within and
across constituencies on policies, programs and innovations in capacity
building of Southern NGOs (SNGOs).

Promote dialogue at a national, regional and
international levels among SNGOs, their counterpart Northern NGOs (NNGOs) and
donors so that their policies, practices and programs on capacity building
will be informed and influenced by voices and experiences of SNGOs.

Support emerging capacity building initiatives to address
priority needs of SNGOs� capacity building� with a view to promote learning about innovations.

Promote an enabling environment for more effective
response to capacity building of SNGOs.
The Forum will focus on capacity building priorities of Southern NGOs with
a view to enhance their contributions toward addressing issues of poverty,
marginalization, democratization, strengthening of civil society, human rights
and sustainable development.
The
primary strategy of the Forum will be to build on existing initiatives and to
enable its partners to undertake efforts appropriate to decentralized
geographical and thematic priorities.
