- The main objective of the sustainable agriculture is food security, not productivity.

- For farming to be sustainable, it has to have philosophy and culture behind it, not
merely technology. Technology is only secondary to philosophy, and technology alone can
corrupt food security. Taking Japan as an example - Japan has rice security because there
is a myth in rice. Japanese dont eat Thai or any other rice except theirs; its
something cultural.
- When teaching technology to farmers, there should be political advocacy for it to work.
Agriculture is highly dependent on policy. One example is legislation: No agricultural
lands should be converted to non-agricultural use.
- Strategy/Goals should be clearly stated in any undertaking so as to influence not only
the community, but also the local government.
