Criteria for Selection of Communities for SD Village

The following set of criteria is used for the selection of the communities that are featured in SD Village.

	Adopts a multi-sectoral, participatory in decision-making, planning, and implementation.
	Integrates social, economic, and environmental considerations.
	Has potential for adoption/adaptation in other areas - project properly documented - practice shared with other communities/institutions - technology/process/activity actually replicated on other areas
	Has benefited the community.
	Has been in operation for at least two years after funding assistance ceased.
	Has created new structure/s or enhanced existing ones and has instituted a capacity-building mechanism.
