Provides assistance to people�s organizations engaged in community forestry in the development and management of community forests. PFEC provides the following services:� *� Capacity building: enhancement of local knowledge on sustainable forest management practices *� Micro-enterprise development and management: establishment of ecologically sound and viable Income Generating Activities (IGA).

Organization management and institution building. 2.����� Establishment of Indigenous Tree Sanctuaries� ������� Philippine indigenous trees are fast disappearing due to continuing forest destruction. Current reforestation programs are turning the Philippine forest into a GEMANA forest � gmelina, mahogany and narra. It is imperative to ensure that indigenous tree species survive and propagated for forest rehabilitation.
To do this, PFEC promotes:� *���� Establishment of indigenous tree nurseries in communities *���� Use of indigenous trees in the rehabilitation of Philippine forests *���� Protection of mother trees in the natural forests *���� Establishment of indigenous tree sanctuaries in the barangay level which shall become natural indigenous tree nurseries in the future.� PFEC provides assistance to seven (7) people�s organizations engaged in community forestry in the Bicol Region and Quezon province. � |
