• WCARRD 20/20

  On October 6-7, 1999, the Asian NGO Coalition (ANGOC) and the Popular Coalition for the Eradication of Hunger and Poverty co-organized an international conference on WCARRD 20/20: Emerging Trends and Perspectives of Agrarian Reform in Asia in Tagaytay City, Philippines.
  

• Statements from the WCARRD 20/20 Conference

  Delegates to the international conference on Emerging Trends and Perspectives of Agrarian Reform in Asian reviewed the Programme of Action of the World Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (WCARRD).� They concluded that the goals and proposed actions, commonly called The Peasant�s Charter, is as relevant today as it was 20 years ago.
  

• ANGOC Statement on WCARRD 20/20

  ANGOC, which traces its origins to ensuring the realization of the WCARRD in the Asian region, organized this Conference on WCARRD 20/20 on 6-7 October, 1999 aimed at reviewing the state of agrarian reform and rural development in Asia and assessing the relevance of the Peasants� Charter to Asian communities.
  

• ARNet Southeast Asia

  ANGOC has been named regional focal point for the Agrarian Reform Network (ARNet) or the Knowledge Network on Civil Society Initiatives in Land Reform and Tenurial Security in Developing Countries. The network is one of two international networks on agrarian reform established by the Popular Coalition to Eradicate Hunger and Poverty. The Popular Coalition is a consortium intergovernmental and civil society organizations dedicated to building on the dynamism and potential of civil society groups to eradicate hunger and poverty.

  ANGOC is a member of the steering committee of the World Civil Society Conference (WOCSOC) 1999. The conference, scheduled for December 8 to 11, 1999 in Montreal, is a project initiated by the United Nations University.

• A Human Chain at the 32nd ADB-AGM meeting to Break the Chains of Debt in Jubilee 2000

  As advocates of the Jubilee 2000 Debt Campaign, we, the Philippine Jubilee Network, the Philippine Jubilee 2000, the Freedom from Debt Coalition, the People�s Campaign for Agrarian Reform Network (Agrarian Reform NOW!), and the Asian NGO Coalition (ANGOC), join hands and raise our voices to proclaim the universal Jubilee call to the G-8 donor countries and International Financial Institutions (IFIs) like the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for the condonation of global debt that continues to enslave the world�s poor nations and peoples.
