A follow-up session was held on 19 August 2004 at the Carmelray
Industrial Park II, Calamba, Laguna as part of the Environmental Forum
organized by the Eco-Industrial Exchange Network (Eco-Index).
The
purpose of the follow-up session was to further articulate the views
and recommendations of the industries along the lake basin on the EUFS
policy and implementation based on their individual and collective
experiences. It was the aim of this effort that the learnings
and recommendations that came out of the session will be inputted into
the review on the EUFS policy and be a part of the consultation
process for the crafting on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR)
of the Clean Water Act. The forum participants were also briefed
on the progress of the crafting of IRR.
Realizing the need to further discuss the issues regarding EUFS, the
CLEAR in cooperation with the Eco-Index plan to hold Focal Group
Discussions on EUFS for inputting into the work of the Technical
Working Group on the IRR of the Clean Water Act.
