During the
10th Living Lakes Conference in Tagaytay City in May 2005, a forum
for the youth was held as a parallel session with the conference workshops. This was
attended by the groups from -
- Tanay, Rizal (Kilos Kabataan Para sa Lawa, 2003);
- Los Ba�os, Laguna (Kilos Kabataan Para sa Lawa, 2004
/ Youth Circle);
- SACRED (Young Environmental Stewards);
- Lumban, Laguna (Lumban Youth Group); and
- Quezon City (Association of Architecture Students -UP Diliman chapter).
The groups were able to consolidate their ideas and initiatives for the conservation of
Laguna de Bay and its environ. |

As a follow through, the SCPW spearheaded the holding of the
CLEAR Youth Network Forum on 01 October 2005.
It was organized to strengthen the commitment of the youth
and to plan the next steps for the network.
Five youth groups came together as a network to push for a
common agenda, the conservation of Laguna de Bay and its
environment.

The guidelines of the CLEAR Youth Network, the crafting of which was the main agenda of the Forum,
was formulated by the participants. The objectives, projects and activities, and the
participation and involvement of the various groups to the network were discussed through a
planning workshop, plenary discussions and group dynamics.
The event was supported by Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau of the Department of
Environment and Natural Resources.

The CLEAR Youth Network Congress was held on
03 June 2006 at the University of Rizal System campus in Tanay, coinciding with the
celebration of the UN World Environment Day and the Philippine
Environment Month. The CLEAR Ecological Camp graduates from Tanay, Los
Ba�os, Muntinlupa and Lumban gathered again to further strengthen the youth partnership
and plan common activities towards lake conservation. The workshop was followed by a
seed collection activity at the URS campus, an activity that was initiated by the local
government of Tanay.
The event was supported by the Tanay Environment Foundation, CBK Power Company, Ltd.,
University of Rizal System and the Municipal Government of Tanay.

The
CLEAR Eco-camping graduates from the municipalities of Tanay, Los Ba�os,
Lumban and cities of Muntinlupa and San Pablo gathered again in July 2007
at the 2nd CLEAR Youth Network Congress.
The event aimed to further explore ideas, exchange information, and
strengthen mutual support among the groups in terms of their lake conservation
activities. Its theme was Wetlands and Climate Change, serving it
as the venue in enhancing the awareness of the participants on the intertwined
issues of climate change and wetlands.
The event was supported by the Municipal Government of Tanay, CBK Power Company, Ltd.,
Friends of Seven Lakes Foundation, Municipal Government of Lumban,
University of the Philippines - Los Ba�os and various
youth organizations of the participants. |
